TUNISIAN
ADVENTURE
Mr Jenkins led a Geography trip to Tunisia over half term.
The lucky boys who accompanied him were thrilled by the sands
of the Sahara, the ruins of Carthage and the camel trains.
For a real flavour of their
holiday, read Victor’s poem below:
Beyond the red and yellow
sky
With the mountains scanning far and high
Is Tunisia in Africa up North
Known for the people bustling back and forth
The camels wander around
Ponder on the sand ignoring all sound
Of buggies and cars alike.
The city of Carthage is a sight
With the pebbles taking fright
As I run about in delight.
The oasis is the home of a great creation:
the wonderful dates are a delectation.
The horse carts guide us through great culture,
Me watching my horse like a vulture
Hastened along the sandy lane
Of hanging dates that we will gain.
Pump pump then a thump
As my car goes down the dune
Then to the left and to the right
as we jerk along the soft sands
At last I will conclude and end my boast
of the trip make for a king
That leaving will be the saddest thing
