What’s new?
Up until now, Westminster Cathedral Choir School has only
accepted day boys at 8+, from Year 4 onwards. By taking
day boys at 7+, Year 3, we are adding a further Year Group
to the School.
How many boys will
join WCCS at 7+, in Year 3?
Up to fifteen boys, taught in one set.
Are 7+, Year 3, places
for day boys only?
Yes. Boarding choristers will continue to join WCCS at 8+,
in Year 4.
What will the 7+,
Year 3, boys be taught?
Boys will be taught English, Mathematics, Science, History,
Geography, Religious Studies, ICT and Art & Design by
a specialist primary-trained teacher.
In addition, they will receive
subject-specific teaching in French and Games.
Will boys be assessed
before they are offered a place at the School?
Yes. Boys will sit assessments in English, Mathematics and
general reasoning when they apply to the School.
What will the 7+,
Year 3, fees be for 2010/11?
Fees have yet to be finalised, but will be in the region
of £4,000 per term.
Will WCCS continue
to accept day boys at 8+?
Yes, the School will continue to offer places for day boys
at 8+, and up to 6 places for boarding choristers.
How many sets will
there be in each Year Group at WCCS?
Year 3 – Age 7/8 – 1 set
Year 4 – Age 8/9 – 2 sets
Year 5 – Age 9/10 – 2 sets
Year 6 – Age 10/11 – 2 sets
Year 7 – Age 11/12 – 2 sets
Year 8 – Age 12/13 – 2 sets
Sets typically contain between
10 and 15 boys.
